Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited is an international growth company focused on gold, with operations in Canada and advanced-stage projects and opportunities in Canada, Mexico, Finland and the USA. Immediately after MARANT was awarded the project we became part of the design team working with the client's architect (Taylor Smyth Architects) and the client's project manager (The Facility Management Group Inc.) to construct Agnico's new 24,000 sq. ft. corporate head office located at 145 King Street East.
The office facility was designed using high end finishes such as wood feature walls and ceilings, boardroom entry doors and flooring. Natural stone was used on floors and walls and a new interior staircase was designed to connect the main floor offices to the conference/meeting areas on the upper level. The space featured a 12' x 9' "art wall" at one end of the reception area which was created using 3" X 8' stone core drill samples from the client's international mines. State-of-the–art audio-visual equipment was incorporated into the design of the main boardroom which included video cameras, acoustic panels, motorized projection screen and multiple speakers concealed in the surrounding wood paneling. The project was successfully completed in February 2008.
