Manulife Financial is a leading Canada-based financial services group with a diversified real estate portfolio. They provide asset management services to institutional customers worldwide and offers reinsurance solutions, specializing in property and casualty retrocession.
MARANT was retained as the Construction Manager for this multi-phased, office consolidation and renovation project spanning all five floors in the building, which is owned and occupied by Manulife Financial. The goal was to densify the space utilization using new furniture and standards, refresh the finishes throughout to create a more modern, dynamic and functional work environment. The project will be implemented in five phases, with a final completion set for October 2020. The scope of work included the fit-out of a swing space at another address (25 Water Street) that will accommodate staff during the phased construction process. This extensive renovation project, consisting of approximately 315,000 sf, included the renovation of six washrooms per floor (including a universal per floor), minor façade repairs and landscaping to create outdoor employee patios, which will be completed in the summer of 2021. MARANT worked with local sub-trades, as well as suppliers of Manulife and created a high-functioning core construction unit, achieving Manulife’s goals.
